The aim of Active Local Pages is enabling WEB development for local (desktop) applications. ALP is an engine that runs in the browser and executes the ASP/CGI without need of server and even network installed. Together with the DHTML it offers extremely efficient development environment for DB applications, Autorun CDs, corporate applications and so on. ALPFrame viewer (included) is an optional alternative to the Internet Explorer. It addds to the DHTML model supported by the IE window management, window and shortcut menus controlled by the WEB page. The other purpose of this viewer are the Autorun CDs - load the ALP engine and set of configured components without need to install it - run the application on-the-fly.
ASP and CGI code written for ALP runs on IIS as well which means write once and run the application on the desktop and the WEB server! Shareware has almost no limitations except nags. You are able to play freely with it and even write your application and then buy.
